We believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to a healthy lifestyle. Successful eating plans need to be individualized and take the whole person into consideration. Prior to starting a new diet plan, consult with your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian, especially if you have an underlying health condition.

Thank you for visiting Mindful Dieting.  The purpose of this site is to attempt to make nutrition information simple to understand and to educate you on how to apply it to your daily life.  We will discuss the different diets, and their pros and cons.  We will also discuss ways to eat healthier, and hopefully find ways you can apply it to each meal.

The key to a healthy diet is to eat the right amount of calories for how active you are so you balance the food you consume with the energy you use.  Your diet should keep you energize throughout the day.  That is the purpose of food, to feed the body and the mind.

If you eat or drink more than your body needs, you'll put on weight. If you eat and drink too little, you'll lose weight.

You should eat a wide range of foods to make sure you're getting a balanced diet and your body is receiving all the nutrients it needs.  (I try to make this easier than it sounds)

It's recommended that men have around 2,000-2,500 calories a day. Women should have around 1600-2,000 calories a day.

Most adults in the US and Europe are eating more calories than they need and should eat fewer calories.

Learning how to eat fewer calories, while not feeling hungry, getting the nutrients you need, and eating food you want to eat, is the goal of this website
